The social networking site “Twitter” has scrapped a potentially fake account, it concerns “Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,” Iran’s current leader.
Twitter said it did not want to prevent world leaders from getting posts that could be considered violent or threatening because “it would hide important information that people should be able to see and discuss.”
Commenting on the tweet, Twitter commented: “Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei has carried the content of the violence against Salman Rushdie.”
The podium added that the tweet was considered “specific threats of violence or the desire for serious bodily harm, death or illness of an individual or group of people”.
