Iranian security forces arrested a number of demonstrators after violent clashes broke out in central Tehran, which resulted in many injuries, according to the Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath news channel.

The channel pointed out, on Sunday evening, to the outbreak of demonstrations in front of the Revolutionary Guards headquarters in the northern city, noting that the security forces used rubber bullets to disperse the protesters.

Earlier, dozens of protesters gathered again, outside AmirKabir university in Tehran, and chanted slogans against the high authorities.

The demonstrations erupted for the second consecutive day in the wake of the Revolutionary Guards’ admission of accidentally bringing down the Ukrainian passenger plane after days had been denied.
