For its part, the World Health Organization called on the international community to prepare for a possible development of the new corona virus 2019-nCoV into a pandemic, noting that it is too early to declare a global emergency and that it does not recommend any other restrictions on travel or trade.

The director general WHO, Tedros Adhanom, said Thursday that the organization’s emergency committee is again divided over whether the emergence of the new corona virus should be considered an international emergency.

He added: “There is no evidence of human-to-human transmission outside of China, but this does not mean that it is unlikely. The situation in China is an emergency now, but the matter has not yet evolved into an emergency at the global level, it may become so at a later time.”
