Elizabeth Taylor dressed for an Oscar will be auctioned in December


The legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor, who had been dressed at the Academy Awards in 1974, became among the 1,200 belonging to the late, auctioned off early December, said Julien’s Auctions Wednesday.

The clothing with a pale blue berth style chips made by Taylor to the Oscar was designed by Edith Head and is expected to earn between US $ 4,000 ($ 16,000) and $ 6,000, the auction house said in a statement.

Also auctioned is Cartier’s gold-plated silver belt engraved on her mother’s name. Taylor’s jewelry, wigs, delicate art collection and home furnishings during his lifetime were sold.

President and Chief Executive of Julien’s Auctions, Darren Julien said he expects the belt to be sold more than US $ 40,000.

The auction is scheduled from 6 to 8 December at Beverly Hills California. Bidding can also be made at the auction house website.

Taylor, who died in 2011 when she was 79 years old, a superb icon of Hollywood’s ‘glamorous’ life.

Her name began to be famous in 1944 when she was 12 years old and was once five times nominated as the best actress Oscar.

She was named Oscar’s best actress in the 1960s for the film ‘Butterfield 8’ and ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’ In 1966.
