The Dansaert district police station, located on the Rue du Houblon in the Belgian capital of Brussels, was robbed on Thursday night to Friday, police said Saturday.
Thieves stole items of police uniform clothing including shirts and trousers in a break-in at a police station
“This burglary was amazing,” the spokeswoman for the Brussels Metropolitan Police said without elaborating in order to keep the ongoing investigation going.
On the part of the Brussels prosecutor, spokeswoman said a judicial inquiry had been opened to shed light on the details of this potentially worrisome case.
It is pertinent to mention that a break-in last occurred in the zone on New Year’s Eve, in a building attached to the main police headquarters by the Grand Place.
Thieves took a helmet, handcuffs and some loose change. Following that incident, stations in the zone were circulated with a notice warning that unoccupied offices should be locked down when not in use.
