Argentine MP died of his wounds after being shot

Argentine MP Hector Olivares died of wounds sustained in shooting last week outside the Senate building in Buenos Aires.

Local media reported on Monday that the announcement of the death of 61-year-old deputy Olivares came from the ruling coalition of Cambiemos.

Six people were arrested, including two men last Friday, in the wake of the shooting that killed government employee Marcelo Yadon at the time of the attack.

Argentine Defense Minister Patricia Bullrich described the incident as part of the “mafia” that planned the attack, adding that investigators are still trying to figure out the motive.
