Two Arsenal players, Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac, faced a herd of motorized robbers on a road in the City of London.

The two footballers were targeted by robbers, but both were unhurt.

“We have contacted both the players and they are in good condition,” Arsenal said in an official statement.

The video footage that appeared on social media showed Kolasinac jumping down from the car to deal with robbers who were pressing vehicles using a motorbike at Platts Lane, at around 17:00 local time.

Kolasinac seemed to hit a robber, then turned around and hit another robber. The perpetrator was seen wearing a helmet and armed with a knife.

London Metropolitan Police spokesman released a statement: “It was reported that the suspects were riding motorbikes, trying to rob a man who was driving a vehicle.”

“The driver, along with his passengers, can escape unscathed and go to a restaurant on Golders Green. There they talk to the clerk.”

So far, the police have not arrested anyone and the investigation is still ongoing.

Kolasinac and Ozil were not the first footballers to be targeted by robberies in London.

In 2016, Andy Carroll, who was then strengthening West Ham United, was mugged with firearms on his way home from training.
