“The Canadian government has confirmed the release of the two girls kidnapped in Ghana and thanked the Government of Ghana for its cooperation in resolving this issue,” a foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement.
The rescue of the two girls was completed early Monday in the central region of Ashanti, in the central belt of the African state, no further details were immediately available.
The girls, aged between 19 and 20, were kidnapped at the Royal Kumasi Golf Club on June 4.
