Canada’s population rose to a record 37,589,262 in July, up 531,497 from the same date in 2018, according to Statistics of Canada.

The Canadian Federal Agency attributed the large increase in the population to the flow of migrations to the country, noting that this increase (more than half a million people in a year) did not occur before.

According to data collected, this demographic jump represents the addition of more than one person per minute to Canada’s total population last year.
