Canadian PM, French president discusses preparation for the G7 meeting

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday discussed with French President Emmanuel Macron the preparations for the G7 meeting next month as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

The Canadian Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the positive vote in the French National Assembly on the draft law on ratification of the comprehensive economic and trade agreement and the strategic partnership agreement, stressing his commitment to continuing strong relations between the two countries.

The two leaders also talked about global economic issues and preparations for the G7 meeting in the southwestern resort of Biarritz, France in August, stressing the need for close cooperation in dealing with current global challenges, including climate change, gender equality, peace and security, economic growth and the development of artificial intelligence.
