Britain’s Prince Philip did not participate on Wednesday at the traditional Christmas service Royals. Queen Elizabeth II and several family members visited the church in
Sandringham in eastern England, where the 93-year-old is currently in her country estate.

Prince Philip had left the hospital on Christmas Eve after a stay of several days and had traveled to Sandringham, but did not come to church. Why the 98-year-old had to go to the London clinic is not publicly known. Buckingham Palace spoke of a precaution.

For the first time, six-year-old Prince George and his two-year-old sister Charlotte attended the traditional Christmas service in Sandringham. On the first day of Christmas they came to the Church of St. Mary Magdalene on the hand of their parents Prince William and Duchess Kate. Her only one-year old brother Louis stayed at home.

Prince Harry (35) and Duchess Meghan (38) preferred to celebrate the party with their baby Archie with Meghan’s mother. The small family had taken several weeks off in Canada. The Duchess of Sussex – as Meghan’s official title – had lived and worked as an actress for seven years (“Suits”).
