MANCHESTER: Manchester City was defeated by a 3-2 defeat at Crystal Palace’s hand, the latter’s second defeat in the Premier League campaign in defending championship this season.
The defeat also provided space for Liverpool to defend the four-point gap in the league after Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Wolves 2-0 on Saturday.
City’s Pep Guardiola opened the net in the first half through Ilkay Gundogan but the Roy Hodgson’s men bounced ahead of Jeffrey Schlupp, Andros Townsend and Luka Milivojevic’s penalty.
Kevin De Bruyne narrowed the gap in the 85th minute but was not enough to spark City’s rise.
