Prince Charles did not snub US Vice President Mike Pence in Jerusalem on Thursday at the ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz camp. This is what Buckingham Palace claims, assuring that the two men had, shortly before, “a warm discussion”.
On a video widely shared on social networks, the Prince of Wales chats with several people, including German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, invited like him by Israel to commemorations organized at the Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem.

The prince then walks past Mike Pence, who seems to be expecting a handshake. The heir to the British throne then looks at him briefly then goes on his way, and greets the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, standing next to the American vice-president.
“Shortly before the start of the ceremony at the Yad Vashem memorial, the prince and vice-president Pence had a warm and friendly discussion, which is why they did not greet each other again,” reassures the communications services of Clarence House, the official residence of Prince Charles.
