The European Union (EU) wants to extend Article 50 to avoid a Brexit without an agreement by the deadline of late October, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The British newspaper, said on Saturday, to the rumors about the willingness of French President Emmanuel Macron to withdraw the deadline to reach an agreement on Britain’s exit from the European bloc on October 31.

The European Commission said another extension was a clear possibility, marking a softening of its position ahead of intense Brexit negotiations next week.
