According to the European media outlet Euronews, the proposal was submitted to end the time change in September following the European Union survey, adding that starting in 2021, the proposal gives EU member states two options either continue to change the daylight saving time or stop the change twice a year.

Euronews pointed out that member states have the opportunity to make their own decision, the European Commission urged countries to coordinate their decision, warning that the timing differences may lead to economic disruption.
