Floods in Italy destroys ready crops more then 800 people displaced

The bad weather in northern Lombardy, Italy, caused heavy losses including floods, landslides and ready wheat, maize, barley, fruits and vegetable crops destroyed, hundreds of residents evacuated from the northern Lombardy.

Heavy rains and floods are the most horrifying event for farmers at present, as the crops cannot be repaired and will spend a whole year to re grow, Italian media reported.

The latest ice and water storms caused the Great Lakes to rise in the north with Lake Como, which reached 105 percent, flooding nearby areas caused more then 800 people to evacuate from the area.

The channel said bad weather and rain had disrupted train service and closed roads.
