Paris authorities on Monday activated a alert plan for the capital as France was ready to face extreme heat this week after a wave of heat was felt last month.
‘Third level’ warnings include steps to ensure senior citizens and risk checks regularly as well as providing shelter.
French weather forecast center, predicts temperatures in the capital to reach 37 degrees Celsius tomorrow.
In addition to the capital, more than 20 other localities, especially in southern France, are also placed in heat wave alert.
Agriculture Minister Didier Guillaume said earlier this week, France would ask the European Commission to accelerate the subsidy payment amounting to 1 billion euros to help farmers face hot weather.
By the end of June, France recorded the highest temperature of 46 degrees Celsius in the south of the country.
