Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated Bianca Andresco for winning the US Open.

The 19-year-old Canadian teenager became the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam tennis championship in the history after defeating American tennis legend Serena Williams with two unanswered sets 6-3 and 7/5 at the famous Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.

“Congratulations to Bianca Andresco, she made history and made the whole country so proud,” the Canadian prime minister tweeted, congratulating Mississauga’s Bianca“.

The 37-year-old Williams had hoped to win the 24th Grand Slam title in her history to deal with Margaret Court’s record.
