Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan had to be sidelined for six weeks due to foot injury.
Mkhitaryan, 29, was replaced in the first half when he lost to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and did not play when he won on Burnley in the league.
The Gunners said the Armenian international had a metatarsal crack in the right leg.
Mkhitaryan has scored four goals and created three goals in the Emirates Stadium so far.
He joined the current list of injured Arsenal players including striker Danny Welbeck and defender Rob Holding.
