Netherlands: Princess Christina died of bone cancer

Princess Christina, the sister of Princess Beatrix, the Queen of the Netherlands who abdicated in 2013, passed away on Friday, at the age of 72, due to bone cancer.

Maria Christina, also known as the Princess of Orange-Nassau, born almost blind in 1947, was the fourth child of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of our sister and aunt.

“Christina has an attractive personality and a good heart.

“We cherish all the wonderful memories with him,” King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and Princess Beatrix said in a statement on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the late Princess Christina, who is passionate about music, lived life outside the palace.

He married a Cuban-born teacher living in exile Jorge Guillermo in 1975 and relinquished his right to the throne.

However, the couple with the three eyes, divorced in 1996.
