Pope Francis appealed to the European governments to take quick and decisive action to avoid tragic incidents of migrants into the Mediterranean and ensure safety and dignity for all.

The pope prayed for 150 migrants who lost their lives on average after their boat sank off the coast of Libya last week, the ABC News reported on Sunday.

Pope Francis’ appeal to the international community came hours after the Italian Coast Guard rescued some 130 migrants, whose boat was allowed to dock at the Italian port of Cecilia, although they were not allowed to leave the port until European countries agreed to receive them.
