The Ukrainian authorities refused to allow Italian journalist to their territory to cover the presidential election, accusing him of bias against the country.
The newspaper “Fox News” US on Monday that Kiev prevented the Italian journalist Marc Enaru, working as a correspondent for the official television in Rome from entering Ukraine to cover the presidential elections scheduled for Sunday.
The spokesman for Ukrainian border guards Ole Slobodian said Enaru was denied entry because he had adopted “an anti-Ukrainian speech in his reports” repeatedly, noting that the latter was not adopted by the electoral authorities in Ukraine.
Ukraine recently banned another journalist from Australia for what it said was a “threat to national security”.
The general elections are scheduled to take place in Ukraine on March 31, in which 39 candidates will compete.
