Turkish media reported on Sunday evening that five army generals had applied for retirement and left their jobs, including those responsible for checkpoints in Idlib, northern Syria.

The decision of army generals came in protest at recent decisions by the military advisory council headed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
