The powerful typhoon Lingling that hit South Korea recently has left three people dead, at least 20 others injured, several buildings destroyed and tens of thousands of homes without electricity.

“The authorities are reviewing the damage caused by typhoon Lingling, assessing the extent of the damage caused by it and initiating waste removal and disinfection operations”, the Yon hap news agency quoted the Interior and Public Safety Ministry as saying.

The typhoon swept through South Korea’s west coast on Saturday, disrupting hundreds of flights after heavy rains and strong winds across the country.

Dozens of flights were canceled or rescheduled due to the hurricane and several roads were closed due to falling trees and bad weather.
