6.5 magnitude earthquake hits southwest of Turkey

A 6.5 magnitude earthquake shakes the city of Denizli in southwestern Turkey, the country’s epicenter said Thursday.

So far no deaths or property damage have been reported.

The Turkish observer center said the earthquake occurred about 10 kilometers underground.

Meanwhile, the US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded lower earthquake readings of 5.8 magnitude.
