The Indian army announced that a military helicopter had crashed in the J-K’s Udhampur.

The accident occurred in a forested area on the hills near Patnitop in Shiv Garh Dhar in Udhampur district, 200 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-administered Kashmir.

Defense Ministry spokesman Diinder Anand told reporters that the two pilots were badly injured in the accident and were evacuated to the nearest medical facility but succumbed to their injuries.

The Indian Army expressed its grief over the incident and its sympathies to the families of the pilots.

Officials said that excessive fog in the area reduced visibility in the area, which led to the accident.
