Canadian police have arrested a protester for assault after he threw stones at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during his campaign events in Ontario.
The region’s police said in a statement that the detainee, who is from Ontario, has been charged with “armed assault” and will be judged on October 6.
Trudeau, who was not injured by stones, condemned the demonstrators, who did not even hesitate to attack doctors and nurses.
The candidates for this early election unanimously condemned the assault on Trudeau.
For days, crowds of opponents have followed Trudeau wherever he goes in protest against the health measures imposed to contain the Coronavirus.
Another protester was arrested after threatening to kill the prime minister.
