An earthquake shook the Taiwanese capital, Taipei. There were no immediate reports of damage.
Taiwan’s meteorological office said the epicenter of the five-magnitude quake was in Hualien County on the country’s east coast.
The Meteorological Bureau confirmed on its official website that three consecutive earthquakes occurred this evening, the epicenter of which is located in the coastal province of Hualien in the east of the country, estimating their strength at 5.4, 4.1, and 3.4 on the Richter scale, respectively.
