Philippines GDP grew 7.1% in Q3 2021

The Philippine Government Statistics Office announced that the gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 7.1% during the third quarter of this year, 2021.

This increase was supported by the growth of the manufacturing, construction, motor vehicle, and motorcycle repair sectors, as well as wholesale and retail trade, the office said.

Minister of Social and Economic Planning, Karl Chua, said, “During the third quarter of 2021, we contained the delta variant of the emerging coronavirus, and we maintained our economic expansion even with the imposition of strict quarantine, and our strategy was correct, and the results were clear.”
