After the reconstitution of National Finance Commission, 9th NFC will be held on February 6 in Islamabad. Finance Minister Asad Umar will chair the meeting.

The meeting will obtain the briefing on fiscal position by provinces and the federal government.

 

The meeting will also have general discussion on strategy for deliberations over new NFC award.

 

Invitations to all the members have already been issued to attend the inaugural session.

It is pertinent to mention here that on 12 Jan, President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi had approved reconstitution of National Finance Commission under the chairmanship of Federal Finance Minister Asad Umar.

 

NFC consists of four provincial finance ministers as member and the Secretary Finance as ex-officio member of the commission.

 

Each province has nominated one member. Former Finance Minister Dr Salman Shah will be nominated member from Punjab, Dr Asad Syed from Sindh, Musharraf Rasool Cyan from KP and Mahfooz Ali Khan will be nominated members from Balochistan.
