ECC to meet on Five-point agenda today

The meeting of Economic Coordination Committee will be held today. Finance Minister Asad Umar will the meeting. The committee will discuss the issues pertaining to power plant in Gwadar, Wapda, Gas supply to the power plants, Exports and Imports policy 2016 amendments and SRO 415 (1) 2015.

The ECC meeting agenda received stated that the ECC will discuss sponsor request from the China for the establishment of 300 MW coal power plant in Gwadar.

ECC will also discuss waiving off guarantee fee for foreign currency loan of $125 million taken by the Wapda from the Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. Consortium in 2007.

The ECC committee members will also consider the drawback of local taxes and levies SRO 415 (1) 2015. Regulatory amendments in the Export, Import Policy Order 2016 is also included in the agenda.

Furthermore, gas supply to the power plants will be discussed in ECC meeting today.
