Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan referred in his comments to the model of Pakistan where the elections were held under a transitional government. Ministry pointed out that the comments should not be misinterpreted to indicate interference in the internal affairs of Afghanistan .

Khan stressed that Pakistan has no other interest in Afghanistan, only to promote peace through a political process for Afghans and led by Afghans, noting that the Prime Minister personally cared to facilitate the process of political reconciliation taking place in Afghanistan.
