The High Commissioner for Pakistan in Canada, Raza Bashir Tarar made the opening and concluding remarks while Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Abdul Hameed moderated the session.

The participants were informed that the idea of engaging the Pakistani diaspora through open public-cum-consultative forums once every month had the full backing and blessing of the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan who considers Pakistani diaspora an asset for the nation and fully acknowledges and appreciates their stellar role and contribution in the national development. The launch of Roshan Digital Accounts and the recent announcement for online visa applications were indications of the government’s resolve to provide easy and quick public services to Pakistanis abroad.

The community members lauded the initiative of the High Commission for Pakistan for holding the E-Katchehry on a monthly basis and observed that a regular and broad-based consultative process between the community members and the High Commission would go a long way in strengthening the communication and understanding of the community issues to lead to better consular services as desired by the community.
