Secretary Commerce has re-issued the advertisement for the appointment of Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
The advertisement is issued without the approval of TDAP Board while the criteria for the appointment has also been revised to reward someone handpicked.
It was known that this is a ground making to place Secretary Finance Arif Ahmed Khan as Chief Executive of TDAP.
Secretary Finance is retiring on March 21st. Secretary Commerce Yunus Dhaga is lobbying to become Secretary Finance.
The Board of TDAP has taken note of the situation and a Board meeting is likely to be convened next week to evaluate the situation.
