The State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi met Governor Sindh Imran Ismail at Governor’s House today. Chief Secretary Sindh, D.G. Rangers, IGP Sindh and Senior officers of LEAs/IAs attended the meeting. The meeting discussed at length the present Law and Order situation of the Karachi.
The State Minister for Interior was apprised in detail about the current law and order situation of the city, and the factors contributing to it.
The Minister stressed upon the Police and other LEAs to adopt extraordinary measures to unearth the activities of anti-state and anti-peace elements, hatching conspiracies and challenging the writ of law.
Addressing the meeting, the Interior Minister said that ensuring a peaceful environment for citizens was a fundamental responsibility of the state.
“Maintaining overall law and order in the society and protection of life and property of the people is our prime responsibility and every possible step was being taken in this regard,” he observed.
He further said that supremacy of law should be ensured at every cost.
Governor Sindh said that stern action must be ensured to curb the terrorist activities and to bring the culprits to book.
Afridi lauded the efforts of Pakistan Rangers Sindh in maintaining law & order in Karachi and added that all out efforts should be taken to ensure safety and security to live and property of the citizens. He also stressed upon effective implementation on “Safe City Model” in the Metropolis.
The State Minister for interior vowed to raised and present the outcome of the meeting, before Federal Cabinet for logical implementation on the recommendations.
