A group of security researchers found malicious code in more than 200 applications on Google’s Play Store, threatening the privacy of personal user data, with a total of 150 million downloads.

The researchers have launched Badsim on these malwares, which works under the advertising platforms, as most of them are not known to the application developers, and they install malicious software in hiding without being included in the application itself, so as to pass the security check by Google Store.

The icons of these applications disappear as soon as they are downloaded, making it difficult for users to delete them. As for the mechanism of this malware, it displays ads in the background, which opens the browser to download more malicious code from certain servers or even download unsafe applications from the store Google Play itself.
