A group of hackers targeted hundreds of thousands of Asus computer owners by pushing the software update tool from the computer maker’s servers, known as ShadowHammer. On Friday launched a new security update that can be downloaded through Live Update on all its devices.
According to the company’s official code, the security update was not only enough, but it also launched another verification tool for users who complain about malicious software, which allows them to test it on their machines to make sure it is free. Devices already damaged by malware and loopholes.
The company advised users who had this vulnerability to back up the data and restore factory settings to the operating system to be completely removed.
