NASA has come close to relying entirely on robots on the International Space Station, as the agency completed its first robot test Bumble, which is one of three robots within a system, called the Astrobee.

According to Engadget, promises Astrobee is a robotic system that provides a research platform for the International Space Station. The system includes three robots plus a recharging station.

Robots will play an important role in the agency’s mission to return to the moon, as well as other deep space missions, which will be used Astrobee to test robots’ ability to assist crew and perform spacecraft care tasks.

This will increase the productivity of astronauts and help preserve spacecraft when astronauts are not near the moon, Mars or other outposts in deep space.
