Eight migrants, including four children, were found this Sunday in a refrigerated truck in the port of Calais in France. Migrants had “mild hypothermia,” according to the firefighters who took care of them before being transported to Calais hospital.

The Afghan migrants were found while checking the truck in the port before boarding a ferry to the United Kingdom, prosecutors reported to local newspaper La Voix du Nord.

Two Romanian-born drivers were in custody, according to a court source quoted by France Press (AFP).

The authorities have not yet revealed where the truck is registered and what route it has taken.

Already on Saturday two other trucks carrying 20 migrants had been discovered in Belgium.

Belgian police detected one of the vehicles in Saint-Trond, with 11 people on board, and another in Zeebrugge, with nine people.

One of the trucks was destined for the United Kingdom and was detected after the driver pulled into a garage due to a mechanical problem.

The other was discovered after police were alerted to the presence of migrants in the vehicle heading to the port of Zeebrugge.

On Wednesday 39 bodies were found in a truck in Essex, UK, which came from the Belgian port of Zeebrugge.
