Huawei announced in a statement released on Sunday that its 2018 mobile phone shipments have officially exceeded 200 million units.
Huawei said that the new record was created by the strong performance of its P20, Glory 10 and Mate 20 series models in the market.
According to the data, Huawei’s mobile phone shipments in 2010 have just exceeded 3 million units, which means that it has grown to nearly 67 times in just 8 years. In 2017, Huawei’s global mobile phone shipments reached 153 million units.
According to data from several statistical agencies such as Canalys, Huawei has beaten Apple and ranked second in global smartphone shipments. Huawei wrote that “Huawei mobile phones have progressed from the previous ‘others’ to the current TOP3.”
Huawei also said that its mobile phones are particularly popular in China and Europe. At present, more than 500 million people in more than 170 countries are using Huawei mobile phones.
In August this year, Huawei revised its mobile phone shipments forecast from 180 million units to 200 million units. At the same time, the company expects that by the end of 2019, Huawei is expected to become the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer.
