Joe Biden was reported to be healthy and fit to become President of the United States (US), the doctor who treated him in a letter released yesterday by his campaign of choice.

The 77-year-old Democratic leader and former Vice President is leading the way in challenging President Donald Trump for the November 2020 election.

Earlier this year, Biden vowed to disclose his medical record before the Iowa coroner meeting next February, the first vote in a race after a challenger touched on his age.

His campaign drew a summary of his medical history from Dr Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s personal physician when he was Vice President.

“Biden never used tobacco products, never drank alcohol and exercised at least five days a week” – Dr O’Connor

“Biden is a healthy, energetic 77-year-old man who deserves to be president”, said Dr O’Connor, Executive Director of Medical at The GW Medical Faculty Associates, in a three-page letter.

He said Biden was treated for non-valve atrial fibrillation (A-fib), hyperlipidemia, gastroesophageal reflux and seasonal allergies.

“He never used any tobacco products, never drank alcohol and exercised at least five days a week”, O’Connor wrote.

Age is an issue in the 2020 race because three top Democratic candidates and  Trump himself, are in their 70s.

Senator Bernie Sanders is 78, Trump in his 73 and Senator Elizabeth Warren are 70 years of age.

Senator Warren released a medical report earlier this month declaring her health is “outstanding”.

Questions raised about the health of Donald Trump in November when undergone an unannounced medical examination. His doctor denied that he had chest pain.

Sanders, the oldest candidate in the race, suffered a minor heart attack in September and temporarily postponed his campaign, now he is back in full swing.
