New poll revealed popularity decline of the ruling Liberal Party in Canada led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, months before the start of the federal elections in October.

The League 1 poll for the French-language newspaper La Presse in Montreal, which included 1,529 eligible Canadians, said that if general elections were held now, the Liberal Party would receive 31% of the vote, against 37% for the opposition Conservatives and 14%  new left-wing Democratic Party, led by Jagmit Singh, 10 percent by the Green Party led by Elizabeth May, and 3 percent by the People’s Party of Canada, founded by House of Commons member Maxime Bernier, the Conservative dissident, came after the liberal government presented its new budget Last Tuesday .

In comparison with a poll conducted by the same organization, Leger, a month ago, the new poll shows that the popularity of liberals fell by 3 percentage points, that the popularity of conservatives rose by 1 percentage point, and that the popularity of new Democrats rose by two percentage points.

The ruling party has slipped in two months in opinion polls since the outbreak of the Canadian SNC-Lavalin scandal that caused the resignation of former Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould.
