The Saudi government has issued a royal order restructuring visitation, pilgrimage and Umrah visas to the royal administration, including the cancellation of recurring fee for performing Umrah.

Saudi Arabia’s Haj and Umrah Minister, Dr Mohammad Salih Bentin, thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman for making the decision.

“The royal decree is part of a leadership effort to facilitate the arrival of Muslims from all over the world to perform the pilgrimage and Umrah”, Dr Mohammad Salih was quoted as saying by Arab News.

He added that the order reflected the readiness of the royal administration to increase the number of congregations following massive infrastructure projects and service development in Makkah, Medina and other sanctuaries.

He said the decree by the Saudi government, supported efforts to achieve one of the key objectives of the Vision 2020 renewal plan by welcoming 30 million pilgrims by the year and providing the best services to enable them to perform their worship comfortably and comfortably.
