The US Department of Commerce officially released on Thursday the ban on Huawei Technologies and 68 affiliated companies in more than 20 countries in a list of entities”.

This step prevents the Chinese telecom giant from buying parts or components of American companies without the approval of the US government.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce said the ban order came into force immediately and included Hawaii subsidiaries in Canada, Japan, Brazil, United Kingdom and Singapore among other countries.

Spokesman said the US government would review requests for approval of deals on a case-by-case basis.

The embargo order says US government representatives have concluded that Huawei is engaged in anti-national security or against foreign policy interests of the United States.
