U.S. stocks ended in mix on Thursday in the wake of worse-than-forecast economic data and national emergency.

President Donald Trump will sign a spending bill to keep the government open and at the same time declare a national emergency at the border, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Thursday.

Despite the national emergency fears, investors keep their nose up on Kudlow statement said “U.S. trade team would meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday”.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.41% down 103.88 points closed at 25,439.

The S&P 500 SPX, -0.30% down by 8.2 pts close at 2,741 and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, + 0.09% up by 6.5 pts closed at 7,022.
