YouTube has made some changes to the algorithms it is quietly working since last July, according to Bloomberg, this has led to a significant reduction in views for a number of creators.
A spokesman for the company said that the YouTube recently made one change that would improve users’ ability to find good family content. As Bloomberg noted, however, the company did not explain how to determine the “high quality” content and how its algorithms determined the videos to be promoted which suits the family.
It is not entirely clear why YouTube’s version of the new algorithms, although “Bloomberg” hints that it aims to satisfy FTC, which investigated with the company because of the privacy of children.
It is reported that some creators saw a significant decrease in traffic, while others enjoyed a significant increase in the number of viewers, and companies established such as PBS Kids and Mother Goose Club, among the channels that saw an increase in the number of views and subscriptions.
