Representatives of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) on Tuesday sought to draft a resolution banning iPhone after Apple imposed restrictions on its iPhone applications in Iran. Reuters reported
Last March, Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammad Jawad Azeri announced that 70,000 iPhone users had dropped Apple’s restrictions.
Iranians are in favor of using iPhone phones, but after new restrictions on Iranian applications, these phones have been abandoned.
Minister Geharmi stressed the low use of Apple phones in the network of operators in Iran.
Apple has withdrawn many Iranian applications from its Apple Store. The decision angered Iranian programmers and many of their citizens who considered it “insulting” to them.
