You’ll be able to ask Google and Alexa assistant for a new passport simply now, not only that but there are a range of public services available through the smart assistant like Amazon Echo or Google Home.
After a six-month pilot project by a UK government digital service team, people will be able to access more than 12,000 official information from the gov.uk website without touching the computer keyboard, according to the Metro website.
The details available through the system range from how to apply for free childcare to the basic rate of taxation and the national minimum wage. Officials said it could be extended soon to cover additional services such as details about how to marry and renew documents.
“These results are good because voice services can be a really convenient way to get information, especially for people who have difficulty using computers and phones,” said Jennifer Alum, chairman of gov.uk.
“It’s about making life easier for people who need access to information about government services,” said cabinet secretary Oliver Dodden.
