A lawsuit was filed in California against Apple accusing the company of forcing users to buy new iPhone chargers by launching updates specifically designed to prevent phones from interfacing with older chargers, prompting users to purchase new chargers.

According to the lawsuit, thousands of iPhone users suffered from the inability to use their chargers after an iOS update, as they began to receive error messages that the phone does not support this accessory to force them to buy new chargers.

IPhone Charging problems were specifically related to iOS 10.1.1 update, which was introduced to users in November 2016, but was not explicitly mentioned in court files.
