Azerbaijan to start vaccinating citizens from next Monday

The doses of the Chinese anti-corona virus vaccine will be transported first to Turkey, where they will be examined and packed, before arriving in batches to Azerbaijan, as another two million doses of vaccine from various producers are expected to arrive in Azerbaijan, through the “COVAX” program of the Health Organization Global, which is the major global scheme to vaccinate people in poor and middle-income countries around the world, against the Coronavirus.

As of Saturday, Azerbaijan, which has a population of about 10 million people, had recorded 226,549 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, while the total deaths due to this virus in the country reached 2,983 deaths.

For its part, the Baku government confirmed that it will extend most of the restrictions and closures it imposed to contain the Coronavirus until April, indicating that it will allow cafes and restaurants to open their doors to customers, starting from February 1.
